§ 232. Commonwealth Flower
TITLE 1: GENERAL PROVISIONS § 232. Commonwealth Flower. “Flores mayo,” known in the English language as “plumeria” and scientifical- ly known as Plumeria acuminata, is hereby declared to be the official flower of the Commonwealth. Source: PL 1-25, § 2, modified. Commission Comment: PL 1-25 took effect March 13, 1979. According to PL 1-25, § 1: “The purpose of this act is to declare the official flower of the Northern Mariana Islands, to give such flower a special and honorable recogni- tion, to promote the planting and growth thereof, and to encourage its use dur- ing special occasions or celebrations.”
