§ 6501. General Election

TITLE 1: GOVERNMENT DIVISION 6: ELECTIONS § 6501. General Election. In conformance with Article VIII, Section 1 of the Constitution of the Com- monwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, regular general election of the Commonwealth shall be held on the Tuesday next after the first Monday in November in even-numbered years. In the event of a natural disaster or other Act of God, the effect of which precludes holding the election on the foregoing day, the Governor, acting pursuant to his powers under Article III, Section 10 of the Constitution, may proclaim the general election be held not later than thirty days thereafter in the Commonwealth, or in the affected senatorial or election district or districts.
