§ 6901. Title
TITLE 1: GOVERNMENT DIVISION 6: ELECTIONS § 6901. Title. This chapter may be cited as the Executive Transition Act. Source: PL 3-53, § 1; renumbered. Commission Comment: The enactment of PL 12-18, the Northern Mariana Islands Election Law, on September 14, 2000, required the renumbering of the Executive Transition Act from § 6601 et seq., to § 6901 et seq., by the Com- mission. PL 3-53 took effect March 31, 1983. Pursuant to its authority to rearrange sections to fit harmoniously within the code, in the January 1997 revision the Commission divided title 1, division 6 into two parts (“Northern Mariana Is- lands Election Act” and “Other Election-Related Provisions”) and designated this chapter as the first chapter of the second part; the Commission did not change any section numbers. The Commission took this action because this chapter is not part of the Northern Mariana Islands Election Act, which com- prises part 1 of this division.
