§ 7705. Public Purpose Requirement
TITLE 1: GOVERNMENT DIVISION 7: PLANNING, BUDGETING AND AUDITING § 7705. Public Purpose Requirement. A public official authorized under 1 CMC § 7401 to expend, obligate, encum- ber, or otherwise commit public funds or properties shall take all steps reasonable under the circumstances to insure the funds and properties are committed for a public purpose within the meaning of N.M.I. Const. art. X, § 1, or such official shall be liable to the Commonwealth for the funds or properties not so commit- ted. Source: PL 3-68, § 705, modified.
