§ 3111. Policy and Purpose

TITLE 9: VEHICLE CODE DIVISION 3: INSPECTION OF VEHICLES § 3111. Issuance of Safety Regulations. The chief shall develop and the director shall, within 90 days from June 16, 1983, issue rules and regulations prescribing the required safety and equipment standards with which all vehicles must comply in order to receive a safety inspection certificate of compliance, including a motor vehicle safety inspection procedure for all privately-owned and government-owned motor vehicles. These rules and regulations shall be submitted to the Governor for his approval. After they are so approved, the director shall publicize the rules and regulations throughout the Commonwealth in accordance with existing law. These rules and regulations shall be consistent with existing vehicle statutes but may impose additional requirements and safety standards. Source: PL 3-61, § 1 (§ 308); amended by PL 5-22, § 8.
