§ 4109. Process of Posting
TITLE 9: VEHICLE CODE DIVISION 4: EQUIPMENT OF VEHICLES § 4109. Projecting Loads. Whenever the load on any vehicle, except fire fighting apparatus, extends more than four feet beyond the rear of the chassis bed or body of that load, in a position clearly visible at all times from the rear, a red flag not less than 12 inches in both length and width, shall be displayed at the extreme end of the load, except that between one hour after sunset and one hour before sunrise, a red light shall be displayed which is plainly visible, under normal atmospheric conditions, for a distance of at least 200 feet from the rear end of the load.
